Military identifies Fairchild KC-135 crew killed in crash
The KC-135 plane crashed Friday afternoon about 100 miles (160 kilometers) west of the air base that the U.S. operates in Kyrgyzstan to support military operations in Afghanistan.
Extra officers patrol Bloomsday 2013
Spokane officers packed Downtown Spokane to monitor the event. The uniformed and undercover officers were reinforced by a U.S. Border Patrol helicopter, the Spokane Police Department SWAT Team and bomb sniffing dogs.

On January 15, 1999 a KC 135 crashed less than one mile from the base in Germany and killed all four people on board. The plane's home base was Fairchild Air Base.
Coast Guard denies permit 2 weeks before St. Maries jet boat race
The denial of the permit comes two weeks before Race the Joe! that was scheduled for May 17-19. The race committee received a call and an e-mail notifying them that the Coast Guard would not authorize the permit for racing on the St. Joe River.
Washington tops list of bicycle-friendly states
